Obviously, technology permeates so much of our life now. And the same can be said for dentistry. As far as the different kinds of revolutions in technology that I've seen during my 20 years of practicing, one of the first was digital X-rays, allowed us to obtain better diagnostic information.
Zirconia crowns, we still refer to them as porcelain crowns, but zirconia is actually a type of specialized glass. And zirconia crowns have finally allowed us to provide our patient family with tooth-colored crowns that are durable. Another revolution that I've seen in dentistry would be dental implants. In instances where people had almost hopeless dental situations, dental implants have provided us a way to help them have a dentition that allows them to function and feel confident just in their everyday life, whether that's having a conversation or enjoying a meal with someone.
