Dr. Meek Reflects on the Role of Education-Why He Loves Teaching
Just a photo of a middle aged dentist with a bunch of other presumably dentists…right? Well, yes, but this poorly lit office photo is remarkable to me from the standpoint that it represents a little snap shot memory of some of my most favorite lecture assignments of late.
The remarkable thing is that these events where hosted in lobbies of little corporate offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. I’ll visit one of their Houston locations in June and genuinely look forward to it.
Why you ask? Why the romance with little meetings instead of the big, exciting, and a little glamours settings like Las Vegas, Miami, or New York venues…well, it’s quite simple. These little meetings with corporate practices allow me access to young practitioners. I love to see the excitement young dentists demonstrate when they see what committing to “doing it right” instead of doing it fast.
Leadership in our industry has to come from within. I love that our commitment to quality has afforded me this opportunity to help shape patient care for many that will pass before the dentists that attend my programs. It is truly humbling and I am truly grateful for the opportunity.
All that said, I am on an airplane now to arrive in L.A. to speak this evening and then on to Las Vegas in the for another large program that will be pulse racing and memorable.
I look forward to seeing you in my office soon to talk about how we can renovate your smile easily with dental implants.
